A NOTE FROM EREZ

"I’ve always wanted to express the things I love most about music: the memorable themes of the movies, the freedom of improvisation, the pulse of groove.

In that spirit, ENSEMBLE was created.

Experiencing Brooklyn during and after the pandemic, I discovered the boroughs’s music in its rawest forms: drum circles and jams in Prospect Park, late night bar hangs overflowing with instruments and musicians, sharing their culture from different parts of the world.
Live shows became the purest way to absorb music, and a passion grew to develop a live ensemble of my own.

What started out as a grant application got us our first international festival invitation, and then the recording. Part documentation, part exploration, made in a day at the Bunker Studios in Brooklyn.

Recording can feel like freezing something alive, but I wanted to capture every detail of the orchestration and energy of the musicians, so you can return to the song, the same way I return again and again to the music I love."

Erez Aviram is a composer and pianist twice nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Awards for Best Orchestral Work. His work started to receive recognition with the release of the progressive rock album "Overloading" by "Anakdota" (Fading Records), later with his film scores for “The Mossad” (United King Productions) and "Exodus 91" (Open Dor Media), his piano solo EPs and most recently - The Erez Aviram Ensemble which performed at the Rochester International Jazz Festival, Chamber Music America Showcase in Times Square and at the Baby Grand Jazz Series, as well as in New York City venues.
